Thanks! yeah because they are weird and a bit alien, you can get away with more. as for the shadow and highligts, I just googled a picture of a black spider and drew that. I think it worked out quite well for only having an Ikea pencil, a 0.3mm fineliner and a very light grey copic-clone

Not bad for what you were working with, I usually do my intricate doodles in RSVP ballpoint pen and white out, and mine are usually roses
